My daughter is spending a night away, and my other half is working the night shift. I’m home alone. I’m savoring it and hating it….does that make sense? I’m sure all you moms out there understand. We are so used to the craziness that kids bring, that when they aren’t around we sometimes just don’t know what to do with ourselves. Tonight I’ve managed to get a few things done that I’ve been meaning to do…like blogging! I also made my turnip dish and the follow up dish for my next recipe blog post. It’s quiet in the house. Too quiet really. Without anyone here to tell me to turn down my music, I put on a favorite artist. Who might that be? Ray Lamontagne. If you haven’t heard of him, check him out on YouTube
If you aren’t into artsy folky stuff, this may not be your cup of tea. However, you may appreciate his lyrics.
He calms my soul. He brings me back to places I forgot about. He takes me places I’d like to go. He didn’t however do my dishes, or clean up the god awful mess from the exploding turnip in my mixer. I guess no man is perfect haha. He did however keep me company.
I think I may take him to bed with me….
Get your mind out of the gutter!
